Jesus’ parting words before He left this earth were,
What does a disciple of Jesus Look Like?
A disciple loves the people Jesus loved.
A disciple serves the people Jesus served.
A disciple obeys Jesus’ teachings and commands.
“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the
truth will set you free.” -John 8:31-32 NIV
We never stop growing as a disciple of Jesus. It’s a life-long journey of taking steps toward
becoming more like Jesus.
Spiritual growth is not automatic. It’s something we must pursue.

We never stop growing as a disciple of Jesus. It’s a life-long journey of taking steps toward
becoming more like Jesus.
Spiritual growth is not automatic. It’s something we must pursue.
Here are some important habits that will help you grow as a disciple of Jesus:
Read the Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to us and it’s the number one way God speaks to us. The Bible is the standard by which we live. It tells us who God is and how we’re to live on this earth. "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." -2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
Pray
Prayer is simply talking to God. Just like we have a conversation with others, prayer is a conversation with God. "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done."
-Philippians 4:6 NLT

Stay Connected
We were not created to do life alone. When we spend time with other followers of Christ, we receive the support and encouragement we need to live a godly life.
Connect at Church
Church is a place where followers of Christ come together to grow in their faith through Bible teachings and personal application. "Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near." -Hebrews 10:25 NASB
Connect in a Group
Discipleship happens best in small groups, where we can learn and grow from each other and hold each other accountable. "And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to
the breaking of bread and to prayer." -Acts 2:42 NASB
