Become a Servant

Jesus, the Son of God, served others while He lived on this earth. What an amazing example for us to follow!

Jesus said, “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." -Matthew 20:28 NASB

As followers of Christ, we’re called to serve too. We were created for good works. "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." -Ephesians 2:10 NKJV

Not only were we created to serve, but God has given each of us gifts, talents and abilities to serve. Whether it’s serving coffee, greeting, playing music, taking pictures, or changing a diaper, everyone has a place to serve.

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."
-1 Peter 4:10 NIV

"For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints."  -Hebrews 6:10 NASB

Giving

Giving our tithes and offerings is an act of worship that expresses our gratitude, faith and obedience to God.
Giving allows us to demonstrate that God is more important to us than material things.

What does God expect of us when it comes to giving?
The Bible teaches us that the baseline standard for giving is the tithe.
The tithe is 10% of our income and it goes to support the local church.
Offerings are any amount above our tithe and can be designated as we choose.
"A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD." -Leviticus 27:30 NIV
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and put Me to the test now in this,” says the LORD of armies, “if I do not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.” -Malachi 3:10 NASB
